Welcome!! We are all so excited to watch your journey through to Homeownership. Take this time to really embrase the program and be grateful and thankful to our volunteers as they are the backbone to this organization. 

Construction

 

Location: Habitat of Citrus Springs, located on Deltona Blvd.,  across from the Church of God, whose address is:

 9921 N. Deltona Blvd, Citrus Springs, FL 34434

Parking: When entering the neighborhood directly across the street from Church of God. You will locate our habitat work trucks and park on the sides of the road at our active jobsites. Reminder, you are not autorized to be on a jobsite outside the days and times listed below otherwise instructed by Habitat Staff. 

Days: Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays

Schedule: (You are not required to work a complete shift)

7:45 AM - Arrival and sign in & Safety Meeting

8:00 AM - Begin task

9:45 AM - Short Break 

10:00 AM - Continue Task

11:15 Short Break

11:30 Final Clean up 

12:PM Shift is over

WHAT TO BRING & WEARVolunteers should wear comfortable, long pants or shorts and sturdy, closed-toe shoes (sneakers are acceptable – no sandals, flip-flops, or dress shoes) that you do not mind getting paint on, soiled, or possibly ruined. Volunteers are required to wear their Habitat provided t-shirt. In addition, we suggest wearing a hat and bringing sunglasses. We will provide Personal Protective Equipment, training, tools, bottled water for you throughout the morning, and snacks at the mid-morning break. Please feel free to bring your own work gloves.

Tasks you can expect to do while at the site include but not limited to:

Installing interior and exterior doors, windows & interior trim, ox board, soffit/ facia/ siding, and tile, paint touch ups and landscaping.

No construction experience is necessary as skilled construction staff and skilled volunteer leaders will provide training and supervision. All tools, safety equipment, and building materials needed for the day will be provided.

ReStore 

HFHCC ReStores are home improvement retail outlets that sell new and gently used furniture, appliances and building materials to the public. Proceeds from the ReStores support our mission to provide affordable homeownership opportunities. Assist with store operations such as sorting inventory, accepting donations, helping customers and more!

Days and Times

Tuesday - Saturday ( You're not required to work a complete shift)
9AM - 5PM

What to Wear

Closed-toe tennis shoes or boots are required and clothes appropriate for light physical labor. Duties vary daily. 

What to Bring

A reusable water bottle is suggested. You may want to bring a snack, too.
